The Design/Package Engineer-Powertrain & Electrical will help develop & guide development of Powertrain and Electrical Systems and components including their interfaces across all vehicle systems. What you get to do
The Design/Package Engineer-Powertrain & Electrical has a critical role in leading the team that is working to engineer all parts, assemblies and attributes ensuring feasibility of interfaces, manufacturing and assemble-ability on our vehicles. The Design/Package Engineer-Powertrain & Electrical will be responsible for the total vehicle integration of all Powertrain and high/low voltage attribute requirements and feasibility at the vehicle level. This candidate will lead the team to identify and resolve integration and design issues as the vehicle is developed. They will lead cross-functional integration team meetings, working with all product development teams including systems and components, packaging, manufacturing, and service to ensure the technical targets are set, solutions are optimized for all stages of the vehicle's life, and validation is performed. This candidate will have responsibility to give guidance and constraints to Development Engineers and the organization as the product plan matures. Expected responsibilities and functions include benchmarking, vehicle performance, weight management, durability & reliability, powertrain & electrical/features development, and others to complete the full complement of vehicle attributes. Departments and responsibilities will mature with time. What you bring to the Team
Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent from an ABET accredited or equivalent experience. 10+ years of experience with vehicle development capability. Excellent communication, team building, and relationship building skills. Excellent Catia skills. Direct development or package experience in EV powertrains and/or vehicle electrical systems. Ability to lead teams and meetings through technical tradeoffs and optimized solutions with attention to detail. Broad vehicle technical and vehicle development process knowledge including how to set technical targets, work with teams to determine feasibility (virtually and physically) and validate with statistical confidence. Functional experience with NHTSA/FMVSS, CARB, EPA requirements. Ability and desire to work in a fun and fast-paced environment. Equal Employment Opportunity
