We are seeking a Transportation Structural Engineer to be responsible for the management and design of transportation structures projects. Project Engineer position is responsible for maintaining budget and schedule while acting as a technical advisor to design engineers. Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Design of new and rehabilitation bridge projects Ability to meet project schedules and maintain quality standards Maintain project scopes and budgets Preparation of contract bid documents and managing construction phase services Coordination with sub consultants Leading design engineers and drafting personnel Converse with clients and establish relationships Required Experience
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field from an accredited program Professional Engineer License 10+ years’ experience in (bridge) horizontal structural exp Project management and business development experience Proficient in Microsoft Office Required Skills
Ability to manage the structural design of engineering and construction projects of varying levels of complexity, and scope Knowledge of structural design principles for steel, reinforced concrete, and prestressed concrete for structure components Ability to work on multiple projects in a dynamic, team-oriented environment Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills Required Experience
10-15 years of relevant experience in structural design Licensed Professional Engineer in the state of Maryland Experience with AASHTO LRFD bridge design Experience working with Maryland Department of Transportation Preferred Experience
MS in Civil Engineering 3 years of experience leading design engineers and drafting personnel Working Conditions
Work is performed within a general office environment most of the time. Work is generally sedentary in nature but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.
