Position Overview Responsible for teaming with Marketing Product Management to define and deliver innovative new products to the market. Will manage engineering projects or multiple interconnected engineering projects. Provide technical project leadership of a multi‑disciplined engineering team. Ensure that high quality products are developed on schedule and within budget.

Responsibilities

Lead multi‑disciplinary projects, and usher them through the entire lifecycle.

Team with marketing, both on the business and technical front, to specify and develop cost effective and differentiated products.

Lead the creation of engineering specifications and contribute to the creation of marketing specifications.

Develop and execute project work plans, incorporating revisions as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.

Ensure information flow in cross‑functional matrix teams as appropriate to facilitate workflow, reduce cycle time and deliver world class quality.

Leverage past experience and strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with marketing, engineering, quality, service, and operations.

Effectively apply our phase‑gate methodology and enforce project standards.

Drive development teams to consistently improve cycle time and time to market. Accountable for completion of projects to meet market windows of opportunity.

Provide decisive and effective technical leadership for product development.

Minimize schedule and technical risk by foreseeing and addressing obstacles proactively and aggressively.

Lead timely and efficient product development by understanding the relationships and tradeoffs between the various product subsystems and engineering disciplines and leading creative product solutions.

Participate in system and components development process by identifying potential weak points. Lead solutions development using engineering judgment, input from experts, and involvement of suppliers and/or other systems partners as appropriate.

Lead process improvement in the area of product development, resulting in time‑to‑market improvements and cost savings.

Participate and present in department and senior executive level meetings to convey the status of the engineering project(s) under your direction.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering

2+ years of experience leading engineering teams

5+ years of engineering design experience

Ability to work well and productively within a team, always projecting a positive outlook in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.

Demonstrated success in leading teams that embrace innovation, initiative, and continuous improvements in the development of complex products/systems.

Excellent project management, time management, and organizational skills, demonstrated in a matrix organization.

Ability to anticipate roadblocks, diagnose problems, and generate effective solutions.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills with all levels of an organization.

Ability to travel both domestically and internationally up to 10% of time.

Ability to work onsite five days a week at our HQ offices in Shakopee, MN.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in engineering or business

Exceptional technologist with ability to quickly distill relevance.

Track record of delivering innovative products to market.

Strong desire for personal advancement.

Demonstrated problem‑solving, risk assessment, and negotiation skills.

Experience debugging tough technical issues that cross boundaries between hardware, firmware, software, and materials teams.

Strong situational leadership instincts and abilities.

Technical experience in systems engineering, control systems, embedded systems, laser marking, printing technologies, smart cards, cloud‑based architectures, and/or IoT (Internet of Things).

Where You Will Be This role is fully in‑office, requiring five days a week onsite at our HQ offices in Shakopee, MN, as specified in the job description. Entrust operates with a distributed workforce, and this position is aligned with our in‑office product development teams.

Compensation Range The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $122,745-$180,027 per year (in the primary posting location). Actual compensation will be determined based on geographic location, education, skills and experience. This position is also eligible for the company’s discretionary annual incentive plan.
