Overview

Maintenance Engineer II at Montana Technological University. Full-Time position with a starting hourly rate of $28.71. Responsibilities

Maintain, repair, replace, relocate, remove, restore all HVAC systems including motors, controls, coils, lubrication, filters, belts, and all controls and wiring. Perform maintenance and repairs to plumbing systems; maintenance and repair to minor electrical devices and components. Interpret and apply blueprints, building control diagrams/software, and maintenance manuals. Maintain systems according to established maintenance schedules using manufacturer specifications, department guidelines, and good trade practices to minimize interruptions. Install, modify, maintain, repair, and overhaul heating equipment, boilers, hydronic systems, pumps, and building controls; assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical wiring, motors, equipment, appliances, and fixtures. Connect wires to control panels, circuit breakers, transformers, or other components. Respond to and maintain fire alarm systems. Operate Heating Plant as needed. Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, control diagrams, and maintenance manuals. Maintain positive and cooperative working relationships with department and campus community; adhere to safety policies and procedures; comply with building codes. Qualifications

Required

High school diploma or equivalent Minimum of 5 years of experience in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or building system controls Must have a 3rd Class boilers license OR must obtain a 3rd Class boilers license within one year Good oral and written communication skills Valid driver’s license with a good driving record Preferred

Licenses, certifications, or education in cooling, refrigeration, heating and ventilation, electrical, plumbing, or building systems Experience troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining cooling, refrigeration, building automation, heating/ventilation, electrical, and plumbing systems Experience with fire alarm systems and Microsoft or similar computer programs Physical Demands

Lifting and carrying requirements, pushing/pulling, bending, reaching, and working overhead; ability to operate tools and equipment; capacity to work in various environments including indoors, outdoors, and hazardous settings per OSHA requirements Work Environment

Noise level typically moderate to loud; may work in conditions involving cold, heat, temperature swings, dust, fumes, and hazards. Protective equipment may be required. Benefits
