Job Summary The Manager of the Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) Operations Team to lead a high‑performing group responsible for the implementation, management, and support of our enterprise Azure Virtual Desktop environment. This role requires a passionate, hands‑on leader with deep technical expertise in cloud infrastructure, exceptional collaboration and communication skills, and an Agile mindset. The AVD Manager will ensure that our virtual desktop ecosystem delivers a secure, reliable, and scalable experience that supports the needs of both clinical and administrative operations across the organization.
Defined responsibilities include roadmap development, initiative alignment with Baptist Health’s IT strategy, lifecycle management of upgrades, migrations, and feature enhancements, capacity forecasting, key operational metrics tracking, and continuous improvement of service performance and user satisfaction.
Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) Operations Team Responsibilities
Responsible for the planning and engineering of an organization's systems infrastructure and implementation and design of hardware and software. Monitors the performance of systems. Formulates and defines system scope and objectives based on user needs.
Devises or modifies procedures to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, and form of desired results. Prepares detailed specifications from which programs will be written.
Analyzes and revises existing system logic difficulties and documentation as necessary. Competent to work at the highest technical level of all phases of applications systems analysis activities. Manages professional employees and/or subordinate supervisors. Has accountability for the performance and results of a team or multiple teams within own area of specialization.
Adapts departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges. The timeframe for objectives is typically annual in nature. Decisions and problem solving require the application of subject matter expertise and a firm understanding of the organization's policies and procedures.
Provides technical and subject matter guidance to employees, colleagues and/or customers. Baptist Health Information Services is actively seeking a manager for the Systems Analysis and Platform Engineering team. The Systems Analysis and Engineering Manager should be capable of work at the highest technical level of all phases of applications systems analysis activities and is directly manage professional employees and team leads.
This role requires a highly motivated leader who emphasizes accountability, collaboration, and a desire for continuous improvement.
Education Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Experience

Over 5 years of Information Technology Experience Required
Experience with AVD roadmapping preferred
Expertise with Azure systems preferred

Experience with Microsoft vendors preferred
License and Certification

Cisco Certified Network Associate preferred
AZ-140 certification preferred
