Construction Estimator – Austin, TX

Base pay range:

$90,000 – $160,000 per year

Responsibilities

Analyze construction drawings, plans, and specifications to develop comprehensive cost estimates

Prepare and coordinate bid proposals, including material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor pricing

Review and qualify subcontractor and supplier bids for completeness and compliance

Collaborate with project managers and preconstruction teams during the bidding process

Manage multiple bids simultaneously within deadlines

Ensure compliance with project-specific bidding regulations and company goals

Maintain proficiency in estimating software and internal systems

Identify and report scope changes or risks that could affect budget or schedule

Participate in post-bid reviews and assist in preparing change order pricing when needed

Present estimates and proposals to internal teams and clients as required

Qualifications

4+ years of experience in commercial construction estimating (open to more experienced candidates as well)

Strong understanding of construction processes, methods, and commercial project scopes

Expertise reading and interpreting construction documents and specifications

Proficiency with estimating software (such as MC2, Sage, QuickBid, On-Screen Takeoff, or similar)

Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills

Ability to manage deadlines and multitask effectively in a fast‑paced environment

Detail‑oriented with strong focus on accuracy and quality in estimates
