Control Systems Engineers
analyze user requirements and the design of process and/or mechanical equipment to develop automation systems that control the process or machine as intended. The engineer applies knowledge in instrumentation, control valves, Motors/VFDs, electrical control system design, and PLC/DCS programming to deliver an automation system that meets user needs with minimal essential design. Operations Director Job Qualifications: Develop control specifications (control narratives) based on User Requirements Participate in initial feasibility studies, providing cost estimates and supporting documentation Mark-up Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and review drawings Design low-voltage electrical controls, panel, loop, I/O, and network drawings; review drafts Develop or oversee DCS and PLC programs Develop HMI and SCADA configurations Configure Historian systems Execute testing plans for control programs, including simulation and system testing Oversee electrical controls construction and verify installation as per design Perform I/O checkout and document results Provide post-commissioning support to operations, engineering, and maintenance teams Travel to client sites as needed Required Experience: Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, or similar), Computer Science, or related field Ideal Experience: 3-5 years in a similar engineering role Experience with platforms like Allen Bradley PLCs, Siemens S7, Emerson DeltaV, Novatech D/3, Honeywell Experion, Foxboro I/A HMI/SCADA configuration with platforms like Rockwell Automation, Wonderware, Siemens, iFix, Iconics Historian/data analytics with platforms like OSIsoft PI, Inductive Automation Ignition, etc. Experience with instrumentation, control valves, motors, VFDs, and drive systems Knowledge of NEC code and electrical design of panels and networks Field troubleshooting experience in an industrial environment Industry experience in Food & Beverage, Chemical, Pharma, Semiconductor, Water & Wastewater, etc. Seniority level
