AW Technical Center USA The Manufacturing Engineer will provide Engineering support to all manufacturing processes and equipment, including design (part & machine), maintenance, tooling and troubleshooting of equipment and processes. He/she will coordinate the delivery, installation, and ramp up of new equipment when required. As well as support our KPI improvements by optimizing processes and applying lean manufacturing concepts. Position Responsibilities
Lead in the installation, debug, and qualification of new equipment - including run-off at equipment suppliers and training on new technologies. Responsible for continuous improvement activities by applying lean manufacturing concepts, Cycle Time Improvements, Availability (OEE), Labor Reduction, etc. Assist in the development of replacement part requirements and maintenance schedules. Plan and budget for required investments and supporting tooling for new programs (working closely with planning department) Communicate with other departments worldwide - lessons learned, benchmarking, best practices Participate in team activities as necessary to achieve company objectives Work with design engineering to determine remediation on existing part quality issues Provide technical support for maintenance and production as required Support cross functional team activities, such as QPR, internal and external audits, customer visits, etc. Prepare presentation material and present as required to various groups and visits. Establish and maintain appropriate documentation for changes to processes and equipment (ECRs, Work Instructions, Tool Drawings, etc.). Responsible for ensuring that new equipment is properly installed and ready for quality production Implement kaizens to improve manufacturing metrics, including but not limited to Availability and Labor Reductions Accurate planning and budget development for investments and tooling for new programs Create documentation for changes to processes and equipment Required Skills and Abilities
2+ years of experience in an engineering role. Knowledge of machining processes, tooling (round tool, insert, grinding wheel) and knowledge of equipment (lathe, machining center, robotics) including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance Understand PFMEA, Statistical probability, and root cause analysis Demonstrated trouble shooting/problem solving experience in an engineering role Familiar with robotics and automation Experience with AutoCAD Education/Training/Certifications
BS/Engineering or equivalent experience; Degree/minor in Materials Science or Metallurgy would be beneficial Seniority level
