Production Manager – Newly Weds Foods, Erlanger, KY The Production Manager directs, plans, and coordinates activities concerned with production of NWF products. This position establishes production priorities for products in keeping with effective operations and cost factors, utilizing knowledge of product technology, production methods and procedures, and capabilities of machines and equipment.

Essential Functions

Provides leadership to all areas of the production department and ensures a productive and engaged workforce. Leads by example.

Plans, directs, and coordinates the production activities in the plant and ensures labor standards are met daily.

Ensures compliance with Safety Standards and promotes a safe work environment. Plays a major role in Safety initiatives and is actively involved in the Safety Committee.

Takes the lead in identifying performance issues and providing guidance, coaching, and progressive discipline as needed.

Responsible for managing 2 baking lines and 2 seasoning lines with a team of 60+ employees.

Ensures daily operations align with corporate standards and performance KPIs.

Drives operational excellence through effective scheduling, budgeting, maintenance coordination, quality control, and team leadership.

Oversees daily operations of the departments, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity standards are met.

Coaches, leads, and develops a team of 8 supervisors, so they can develop their own team, including leads, operators and support staff.

Coordinates and maintains production schedules to meet customer demand and inventory targets.

Manages departmental budgeting, including labor, yield, materials, and overhead costs; identifies and implements cost‑saving initiatives.

Collaborates with the maintenance department to ensure equipment is functioning optimally and downtime is minimized.

Partners with Quality Control and Food Safety to ensure compliance with internal and external standards, including GMP, BRC, HACCP, and other regulatory requirements.

Monitors and reports on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as yield, throughput, waste, downtime, and labor efficiency to higher management.

Prepares and submits regular corporate performance reports, including production metrics, incident reports, and continuous improvement updates.

Ensures compliance with all company policies and procedures, including health and safety regulations.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

A four‑year college degree and a minimum of five years of related work experience, preferably in the food industry.

Ability to give and receive thorough instructions and communicate effectively with management, supervisors, and other employees.

Excellent computer skills with emphasis on MS Office and Excel. AS/400 experience is a plus.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Effective business writing and presentation skills. Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.

Thorough knowledge of GMPs, HACCP, SQF, and BRC.

Proven track record within a Continuous Improvement Environment.

An ability to lead, develop, train, and motivate the workforce while at the same time ensuring a healthy work environment and a high level of employee engagement.

Excellent problem‑solving skills and hands‑on approach.

Work Environment

A combination of Food Manufacturing and General Office Setting.
