Mechanical Design Engineer – Dallas, TX
Lockheed Martin is seeking a Mechanical Engineering college new hire in Dallas, TX. The successful candidate must demonstrate highly innovative approaches to resolve difficult production and design issues. TBD The candidate will be responsible for the following actions: assisting production and development teams, resolving technical challenges, incorporating engineering changes, updating drawings / assembly parts lists, and developing new designs and tools. The candidate will support hardware operations and may provide support to engineering, manufacturing, quality, operations as well as supplier support. Basic Qualifications
Pursuing a Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering or similar degree. Proficiency in CAD design tools, such as PTC Creo, 3DX/CATIA, Solidworks, Siemens NX etc. Demonstrated successful group collaboration and/or individual project work, ideally in an mechanics or design areas. Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical issues, work with system integration issues, design challenges, etc. demonstrated through hands-on experience. Ability to obtain a security clearance. Desired Skills
Hands‑on experience with machining, rapid prototyping, or lab equipment (CNC, 3‑D printers, test rigs). Experienced with GD&T, sketching, technical drawing standards, or similar hands‑on hardware support. Basic FEA/CFD exposure (ANSYS, Abaqus, COMSOL). Participation in engineering clubs, competitions (e.g. SAE, ASME competitions). Basic understanding of industry standards (ISO, ASME, ASTM). Experience with MATLAB. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite. Active clearance. EEO
