Lead Payload Engineer
to take the reins on a next-gen electro-optical payload system, overseeing its development across design, integration, test, and operations. This isn’t just oversight – it’s hands-on engineering and leadership in equal measure.
What You’ll Be Doing
Own the full lifecycle of an advanced payload system from concept to orbit
Lead cross-functional collaboration with other subsystem teams
Manage subcontractors and internal payload team members
Drive payload design, integration, calibration, and test campaigns
Collaborate on image processing pipelines and performance simulations
Shape the future roadmap for space-based sensing technologies
What They’re Looking For
12+ years in payload or satellite engineering with a strong hands-on track record
5+ years in leadership roles, managing teams and complex program schedules
Deep knowledge of EO/IR systems, payload commissioning, and LEOP operations
Strong background in systems engineering, requirements allocation, and spacecraft interfaces
Comfortable translating technical detail into actionable roadmaps and stakeholder updates
Location Colorado (hybrid model)
