Equipment Service Technician – STERIS Instrument Management Services EMEA At STERIS, we help our customers create a healthier and safer world by providing innovative healthcare and life science product and service solutions around the globe.

Position Summary Our Procedural Service Technicians build the foundation of trust and exceptional service support. They perform immediate equipment servicing, identify, quote, and coordinate service offerings to meet customer needs. The incumbent performs on‑site preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, equipment modification, and installation support on complex mechanical, electro‑mechanical, and electronic units primarily in a hospital environment under a highly regulated, time‑sensitive environment.

Key Responsibilities

Drive customer satisfaction through proactive communication and commitment to resolving customer issues expediently.

Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on STERIS surgical and related product lines, including disassembly, repair, calibration, and certification of equipment.

Perform customer training and in‑servicing on assigned equipment and coordinate activities with DSM and Capital Account Manager.

Install or convert assigned equipment and start‑up custom equipment during site visits for small projects.

Utilize technology (smartphone, laptop, and related software) to perform administrative duties, schedule work activities in Siebel, complete service reports, and maintain log compliance.

Communicate with customers, managers, support functions, and sales organization to schedule preventive maintenance and respond to customer problems.

Identify sales opportunities, recommend STERIS products/services, and communicate leads to management and sales staff.

Abide by all STERIS and customer health & safety protocols while on‑site.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED with at least 4 years of work experience, including 2 years mechanically or technically related experience (e.g., mechanical, electrical, HVAC, automotive, IT).

Customer and team engagement experience.

Basic computer skills (MS Windows/email, navigation, mobile app, data input into multi systems).

Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Valid driver’s license and ability to meet all required background and physical assessment to obtain and maintain vendor credentialing.

Ability to work flexible hours, sometimes outside normal business hours and overnight travel.

Ability to establish effective home office with high‑speed internet and secure company‑owned equipment.
