Responsibilities Implement best practices to deliver exceptional care and service at cost. Provide value‑based leadership, establishing high‑functioning teams. Lead human resources functions: hire, train, mentor, evaluate, resolve conflict, discipline, and termination. Manage employees to ensure food safety standards and regulatory guidelines. Monitor quality and satisfaction scores; develop and implement plans to achieve desired outcomes. Assist in budget planning, forecasting, revenue, and measuring productivity while maintaining financial viability. Represent Nutrition Services in interdisciplinary teams, committees, and meetings at facility level. Mentor and train other managers.
Qualifications Five or more years leading a culinary team of 10+. Bachelor’s or associate degree in food services, nutrition, or business preferred. Certified Dietary Manager Certification preferred. Demonstrated understanding of hospital nutrition services department operations. Track record of driving operational performance improvement and measurable results. Leadership skills in complex challenges, balancing competing priorities. Strong business and financial skills in food service industry. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication. Proficiency with word processing, advanced spreadsheets, databases, and scheduling applications.
Physical Requirements Food Handler Permit or ServSafe certification by first day. Ability to lift, carry, and move equipment up to heavy weights. Ability to stand for long periods and work in various temperatures. Manual dexterity for precision tasks with equipment.
