We are seeking a Plant Manager for our facility in Farmer's Branch, TX. Reporting to the North American Operations Director, the Plant Manager is responsible for the overall management and performance of the manufacturing site. This includes accountability for Safety, Quality, Delivery, Productivity, Inventory (SQDIP), cost control, and people leadership. The role ensures alignment of local plant operations with FG Industrial’s overall commercial and operational strategy, driving efficiency, continuous improvement, and talent development.
Responsibilities
Lead all plant functions including production, logistics, quality, maintenance, supply chain, and personnel; ensure smooth daily operations.
Own the plant KPIs and visual management tools; deliver SQDIP targets with a strong focus on safety, quality, on time delivery, inventory, and productivity.
Deploy and implement safety programs across departments, fostering a strong shop‑floor safety culture.
Drive operational excellence using Lean methodologies (4M principle, Continuous, MTO, Kanban), ensuring efficient use of man, machine, and material.
Define and execute cost‑out and efficiency projects, eliminating process waste, reducing costs and lead times, and improving quality and output.
Adapt operations to market and customer requirements while ensuring financial efficiency in labor, working hours, and cost structure.
Manage the plant budget, monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), and report regularly to senior leadership.
Lead and develop plant teams through coaching, empowerment, regular 1:1s and team meetings; foster talent growth and succession planning in close collaboration with HR.
Collaborate cross‑functionally with Sales, Finance, Supply Chain, and Corporate functions to ensure alignment with global strategy and bottom‑line results.
Maintain strong external relationships with suppliers and customers to support operational effectiveness and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Production Management, or a related field.
Additional qualifications in Lean Management, Business Administration, or Quality Management are a plus.
5+ years of leadership experience in a manufacturing organization including previous experience as a Plant Manager.
Proven track record in Lean manufacturing, operational excellence, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Strong leadership and people development skills with the ability to empower, motivate, and grow teams.
Clear decision‑making ability in complex environments, setting expectations and driving accountability.
Capable of leading in challenging times while maintaining focus on overall goals.
