Job Purpose and Overview The Transportation Supervisor is responsible for routing and managing the day‑to‑day transportation operations for our distribution centers. This is an onsite position at our Lithia Springs Distribution Center.
Shift Schedule Monday – Friday 6:00 am – 4:00 pm
What You’ll Do as a Transportation Supervisor at Dawn Foods?
Hire all transportation team members and complete all required documentation
Ensure compliance of all driver DQF records and audit driver logbooks (e‑logs)
Maintain a safety culture, enforce safety policy, and schedule quarterly driver safety meetings
Follow IFS standards and maintain all vehicle documentation (VCR, Daily Damage Report Sheet)
Build professional relationships with local maintenance vendors to keep the fleet in safe, clean condition
Coordinate pickup and delivery schedules, LTL and full‑load deliveries, and address customer complaints about damaged items, driver performance, and shipment delays
Use Descartes, Lytx/Drivecam, and Geotab to dispatch, route, and track vehicles and coach drivers on habits/safety concerns
Investigate and report all MV accidents and work injuries involving Dawn drivers as required
Adhere to company policy and DOT laws in all daily activities and coordinate department requests for vacation, days off, and safety concerns
Demonstrate Dawn Values and support the Circle of Excellence
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required
Two (2) years of transportation management experience with FMCSA and DOT regulations
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Strong presentation skills in one‑on‑one and small group settings
Problem‑solving and conflict resolution training and experience
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and SAP
Experience with routing and GPS systems (RoadNet, GreenMile, GeoTab) preferred
CDL Class A preferred
Physical Demands & Work Environment
Motor coordination with arm, hand, finger, and leg dexterity
Handle objects > 50 lb
Ability to focus and maintain vision (distance, peripheral, depth)
Stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as required
Withstand cool or cold temperatures
Work in plant/office setting with exposure to dirt, odors, noise, and weather extremes
Benefits and Compensation Base Salary Range: $67,020 – $103,210 with bonus potential. In addition, Dawn offers health insurance, paid holidays, paid time off, professional training, tuition assistance, 401(k) matching, and other comprehensive benefits.
