Job Summary
The Electrical Engineer/Designer serves to design electrical systems for buildings such as high-rise buildings, data centers, multifamily, retail/mixed-use spaces, and commercial spaces.
Responsibilities
Design power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems for various facility types
Produce electrical design drawings using Revit software
Perform field investigations to assess existing conditions and gather project data
Ensure quality control, scheduling, and programming of electrical design deliverables
Coordinate and communicate progress with mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) teams
Perform load calculations, equipment sizing, and short-circuit analysis
Qualifications and Experience
Educational Background: Bachelor's or Master's degree in an Engineering field.
Experience: 5+ years of experience in electrical design and construction
Technical Skills:
Demonstrated project coordination and facilitation experience
Solid understanding of power distribution, emergency power systems, grounding, and lighting design
Experience with breaker coordination, arc flash studies, and voltage drop calculations
Familiar with electrical codes (NEC), energy efficiency standards (IECC), and industry best practices
Experience with high-rise electrical systems, hospitality power infrastructure, and renewable energy integration
Adaptability: Flexibility and willingness to work on various projects and tasks, embracing new challenges with enthusiasm
Strong verbal and written communication skills for design and specifications
Proficiency in Revit
Ability to work collaboratively with architects, engineers, and contractors
Initiative: Demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative to drive projects forward
Location Tyson, VA (hybrid preferred), remote considered
Travel Minimal
