Geotechnical & Tunneling Senior Engineer

Key Responsibilities
Performing design of tunnels, earth retention systems, rock and soil slopes and deep foundations.
Design and rock and soil tunnel initial support using numerical and empirical methods.
Preparing drawings and developing engineering reports.
Developing and implementing geotechnical subsurface exploration plan.
Preparing geotechnical data reports, geotechnical interpretive reports, geotechnical baseline reports, and geotechnical design reports.
Participating in project decisions regarding technical approaches, cost and schedule performance.
Interpreting geology, geotechnical and hydrologic conditions and understand their impact on design and construction.
Assisting in preparation of proposals.
Required Experience
Project work will include heavy civil underground structures such as cut-and cover and mined tunnels, caverns, shafts, underground structures such substations and treatment facilities throughout the United States and Canada.
Minimum of 11 years of experience in geotechnical engineering with emphasis underground structures.
Professional Engineer (PE) or the ability to get one within a year.
Proven record of the use and supervision of PLAXIS software in projects.
Prior experience with PLAXIS 2D and 3D and ITASCA software (FLAC 2D and UDEC) is highly preferred but not required.
Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering or related disciplines.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Experience in rock and soil logging, rock tunnel mapping, and subsurface investigations is preferred.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Previous experience in supervising junior staff.
Compensation Range $128,289.89 - $171,053.19
