Overview
Our operations team is seeking a Senior Buyer. This is a highly visible position with the responsibility of providing results driven leadership to the Procurement, Vendor Management, and Inventory areas. This is a hands-on position in a fast paced, growing environment. Responsibilities
Daily responsibilities include Reporting, Material Purchasing, Inventory Monitoring, Managing Vendor Relationships and utilizing Lean Practices to maintain efficiencies in supply chain management through the production output stage of customer order fulfillment. Supplier management including selection, negotiation, and contract management. Responsible for both strategic and tactical procurement activities. Monitors and maintains procurement KPI’s and cost savings initiatives. Familiar with inventory traceability from receipt to shipment. Collaborates with other departments and leadership to identify and develop needs and requirements for equipment, materials, products, and acceptable substitutions. Prepares and processes purchase orders and requisitions for materials, supplies, and equipment. Create and implement purchasing policies and procedures for purchasing and contract management. Create / Maintain and / or implement purchasing systems. Acts as the company’s representative in negotiations with suppliers with focus on supplier relationship management. Coordinates removal or disposal of surplus materials. Performs other related duties as assigned by management. Promote positive communication between all department personnel. Conduct business with the highest level of honesty and integrity. Qualifications
Minimum Position Experience Bachelor’s degree or minimum 5 years experience in manufacturing preferred Must be a US citizen Preferred Skills Machining background Familiar with outside processes / subcontract Military / government contracting experience and knowledge preferred Oral and written communication skills Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Office ERP / MRP Experience Company Description
