Be among the first 25 applicants Supervises the general activities of residents within Daybreak. Maintains the cleanliness of the Daybreak shelter and provides support and guidance for Daybreak residents by performing the following duties. Note:

Part time Residential Specialists are required to work every other weekend and may pick up additional shifts depending on the coverage need and with Management's approval. Responsibilities

Arrives to assigned shift on time and remains alert and awake during work hours. Responds to youth who walk into the shelter and to youth and adults who call on the hotline telephone. Engage clients daily to build positive connections, teach life skills, and provide daily face-to-face crisis intervention and stabilization services, according to agency's intervention training and the needs of the client. Completes Intake Interviews and termination forms for youth entering and exiting the shelter during shift. Documents shift events in daily log, prepare and maintains accurate records, completes UIR's and other forms that may be required in CareLogic or for PQI as assigned and as required. Ensures proper communication between shifts, Shelter staff and on-call personnel by phone or email when necessary. Completes timely documentation of all paperwork for the client's record per OhioMHAS standards. Documents all client notes in CareLogic before the end of the shift. Coordinates with the Shelter team on all activities, such as contact with parents and other agencies. Provides guidance and coaching for youth as needed and as assigned including information, referral, outreach, advocacy, and linkage with educational, employment, financial, housing, counseling, medical and other social resources in the community. Performs CareLogic, HMIS and other data management systems support duties as needed and as assigned. Maintains order and cleanliness of the Shelter on a daily basis and ensures that the Shelter is secure and free of unauthorized persons. Supervises, assists, and participates with residents in scheduled activities (i.e., groups, chores). Prepares and distributes food for Shelter clients as assigned and requested utilizing food safety standards. Apply Crisis Intervention, TIC, CI and other trainings knowledge and techniques and maintains limits using natural and logical consequences as described in the Shelter Procedures Manual. Utilizes the therapeutic milieu model to assist in managing the behaviors of self and youth. Ensure that all Agency Trainings, Crisis Intervention, Red Cross, CPI and CPR training are all up to date annually. Minimum Qualifications

High School diploma or general education degree (GED) plus 5 years' related experience or, Associate's degree plus 2 years' related experience required Ability to work with minimal supervision Strong organizational and time management skills Good verbal and written communication skills Ability to follow direction in a timely and concise manner It is the policy of Daybreak to ensure that the facility is in compliance with all license requirements and that all employees are fit for duty. Once a conditional offer of employment has been given, Daybreak requires that all prospective employees sign a background check release form and pass pre-employment testing before a start date may be given. Daybreak is required by State of Ohio law to perform a criminal background check, which includes fingerprinting, of eligible applicants. The following pre-employment tests will be conducted at Daybreak's expense: a tuberculin skin test or chest x-ray, and a urine drug screening. Should the pre-employment reviews indicate that the prospective employee does not meet the employment requirements, Daybreak has the option of either not hiring the person or postponing employment until the condition prohibiting employment has been removed. Pursuant to SB 38 (child-serving agency), if it is determined that the applicant has committed one of the disqualifying events, it may prevent employment at Daybreak.
