Traveling General Superintendent- Aviation role at

JE Dunn Construction . This role reports into the National Aviation Vertical and requires 100% travel to project sites in the United States. Role Summary

The General Superintendent will develop and execute the project plan and oversee all aspects of assigned projects with significant complexity. This position will be responsible for managing the team, planning all construction sequencing and meeting project goals. All activities will be performed in support of the strategy, vision and values of JE Dunn. Key Role Responsibilities - Core

Leads all aspects of the company’s safety culture and creates awareness by demonstrating commitment to an injury-free environment through individual actions and mentoring others. Investigates safety incidents and retrains staff as needed. Provides management of subcontractors and organization of the overall job and workflow. Manages and oversees company staff, subcontractors, suppliers and programs such as Safety, Quality and EEO for a project segment. Develops work plans for subcontractors and self-performed work. Coordinates and manages the care, custody and control of the project site. Leads various meetings including daily standups and weekly trade meetings. Attends, manages and participates in appropriate progress and/or project OAC meetings. Creates, manages, changes and implements the project’s schedule in conjunction with the Project Manager. May be responsible for tracking and monitoring project budget and costs using project management system reports. Communicates key project information to owners, design team, governing authorities, subcontractors, suppliers and other departments. Follows the project filing and documentation system; updates drawings, logs and inspection notebooks. Approves and/or records unit cost information for weekly reports and completes daily reports and tracking reports. Evaluates progress on self-perform work and makes adjustments as needed. Manages material and equipment needs for the project. Supports procurement and approval processes for materials and related costs. Assists in selecting formwork, tools and equipment for self-perform operations. Manages timecard approval process to ensure accurate hours and cost codes. Ensures quality compliance through specifications, QA/QC and related resources. Supports project closeouts by supervising pre-punch activities and coordinating with owner, architect and authorities. Understands the project pursuit process and methodology. Participates with field operations leadership to develop and execute a project pre-plan; monitors and adjusts throughout the project lifecycle. Partners with field leadership to establish field staffing for the project. Partners with project management to identify schedule and cost impacts from changes. Participates in negotiations with owner and architect to reach agreement on project changes. Participates in project reviews and related meetings, including buy-out meetings with subcontractors and vendors. Understands and applies terms and conditions of owner and subcontractor contracts for the project. Responsible for identifying and recruiting top talent and promoting a culture of diversity and inclusion in JE Dunn. Key Role Responsibilities - Additional Core

Manages the largest, most complex stand-alone and/or multiple complex projects from planning to completion. Provides management and/or oversight to multiple projects and project teams. Leads and executes company and regional strategic initiatives. Participates in development of relevant training content and internal subject matter experts. Delivers leadership messages effectively to multiple audiences internally and externally. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Accurate and timely work delivery. Strong verbal and written communication (Advanced). Effective presentation skills (Advanced). Proficiency in MS Office (Intermediate). Fundamentals of construction management and project processes. Ability to build relationships and collaborate within a team. Proficiency in project management and accounting software (Intermediate). Proficiency in JE Dunn construction technology (Advanced). Proficiency in scheduling software (Intermediate). Lean process and philosophy (Intermediate). Knowledge of trades, self-perform and labor productivity (Advanced). Budget management, profitability, and business development skills (Advanced). Understanding of document changes and impacts on project schedule. Layout, crane flagging and rigging knowledge (Advanced). Productivity rates and cost management skills (Intermediate). Ability to build relationships and collaborate with internal and external teams. Education

Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering or related field (Preferred). Equivalent relevant experience will be considered. Experience

12+ years construction experience. 10+ years field supervision experience. Experience leading Lean principles on projects (Preferred). Working Environment

Valid and unrestricted driver’s license required. Benefits
