R-20426**Company:** **Southern CT Gas**, an Avangrid Company**Department:** Gas Operations**Job Title:** Damage Prevention QA QC Inspector**Location:** Orange, CT**Work Model:** Office and FieldThe salary range for this position is dependent upon experience, ranging from **$43.49 to $48.45.****Experience*** Minimum of 2 years’ experience in locating underground utilities.* Knowledge of field computers, software applications, database management, and data analysis.* Knowledge of gas operations, construction, procedures, safety manual, emergency response, procedures, and instrumentation.* Knowledge of construction maps and drawings**Education:*** Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 4 years relevant experience preferred.* Associate’s degree with a minimum of 6 years relevant experience or High School/GED with the completion of the relevant progression program and 8 years relevant experience required.**Job Purpose (High level overview of Role):*** Review and ensure accuracy of mark outs submitted by the Mark out Technicians.* Provide quality controls and assurance for gas operation required system protection activities.* Coordinates and maintains a dialogue with internal mark out technicians, contracting and construction firms, governmental agencies, utility associates, public works, and highway departments to assure system protection of gas distribution facilities.* Provides quantitative analysis for required gas operations activities.**Job Responsibilities*** Provide quality control for main and service mark outs completed by Company mark out technicians.* Coordinate and maintain a dialogue with internal mark out technicians, contracting and construction firms, governmental agencies, utility associates, public works, and highway departments to assure system protection of gas distribution facilities.* Conduct audits of completed mark out requests by Company mark out technicians.* Report hazardous and abnormal operating conditions to contractor representative and immediate supervisor.* Assist Company mark out technicians with main and service locates where applicable to achieve quality mark outs.* Review available maps and records to ensure accuracy of information for mark outs. Investigate and coordinate resolution of mapping issues between field operations and technical services when needed.* Act as the competent Company representative during excavations near critical facilities.* Submit QA/QC inspection and audit forms on mark outs completed by mark out technicians.* May report to and assist supervisor with excavator damage investigations.* Analyze and identify patterns in inspection and audit findings and propose future inspection schedule to supervision.* Monitor excavation activities of Second- and Third-Party Contractors. Ensure CBYD Excavator Manual and the PURA Excavation Near Underground Utility Facilities Regulation is adhered to. Document interactions and site information in Company software.* Immediately report Third Party Excavator CBYD violations to supervision and submit Damage Access reports with pictures and video for review and approval.* Conduct virtual and field pre-construction meetings to formulate a strategy for underground locating of large construction projects.* Communicate with town and state paving contractors to ensure valve risers and covers are properly allocated.* Review and report follow-up on blasting and cast-iron encroachment tickets to supervision.* Assist the supervisor in training and acts as a technical expert in underground locating activities.* May be required to fill in for the Supervisor of Damage Prevention as needed.* May be required to allocate department resources and locate requests on a daily basis.* May be required to mark out and complete routine and emergency CBYD tickets.* Valid driver's license required with a safe driving history.**Required Skills and Abilities*** Technically proficient within subject matter and experience of leading a team involved in field operations activities is preferred.* Knowledge of industry codes including: 49 CFR Part 192, Connecticut General Statute Chapter 293 Section 16-345, and OSHA.* Ability to multi-task, delegate to others and respond effectively to high level stress situations.* Excellent interpersonal, team building and demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to coach and develop personnel.* Strong oral and written communications skills, with the ability to clearly and concisely express and exchange ideas.* Must have strong analytical skills, the ability to form valuable conclusions and recommendations, and effectively manage and present data through a proficient use of MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.* Must possess strong Self-Management skills; works well with minimal supervision, manages own time effectively, maintains control over all current projects/responsibilities, follows up on all relevant issues.**Company:**THE SOUTHERN CONNECTICUT GAS COMPANY**Información Movilidad**
