Hoar Construction . Description The Assistant Superintendent is responsible for supporting the Superintendent or Senior Superintendent in operational areas of a construction project. This role may involve coordinating and scheduling multiple crews, determining construction requirements, planning procedures, and ensuring subcontract work meets specifications. The position also includes inspecting work and equipment to verify safety and project standards. Travel up to 100% may be required. Responsibilities: Assist Superintendents with monitoring project schedule and budget; coordinate with subcontractors on recovery plans; meet regularly to discuss progress and obstacles. Coordinate daily operational objectives, timelines, and goals. Participate in inspections of work progress, equipment, and sites to verify safety and compliance. Review construction documents for requirements and planning. Maintain records and produce reports on personnel, production, and operational data. Conduct safety inspections and audits; ensure safe working conditions. Ensure projects are built to quality standards per plans and specifications. Represent Hoar in meetings and act as superintendent in their absence. Build good relationships with customers and suppliers; communicate project progress and issues. Manage workforce and communicate expectations clearly to crew members. Requirements: High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent. 2-5 years of construction experience or relevant college degree. Knowledge of scheduling, cost control, and safety procedures. Basic computer skills (MS Office). Valid Driver's License. Physical Demands and Environment: Work involves indoor and outdoor settings, exposure to weather, and travel. Physical ability to work on-site, walk, stand, lift up to 50 lbs, and operate equipment is required. Vision and hearing must be within normal ranges.
