Document Control Manager

We are looking for a Document Control Manager to be a key member of the staff who will be responsible for the functional ownership of the Track‑IT™ document management application to work at a large client site in the transportation field. The Document Control Manager will facilitate the administrative Management of Change (MOC) process to ensure controlled documents are reviewed, approved, and published accurately and efficiently. Responsibilities include establishing a procedural framework for collecting controlled documents, developing and enhancing document control procedures and tools, and for certain clients managing and enforcing the collection, distribution, and filing of controlled documents.
Key Responsibilities
Must have a working knowledge of Document Control Systems and experience working with Engineering Drawings.
Establish a procedural framework for identifying, collecting, distributing, and filing controlled documents for the Program.
Ensure the information and management control system is implemented in compliance with the Client’s standard and is updated to reflect revisions.
Provide training and support to Project Team members and conduct spot audits to enhance compliance.
Provide QA/QC audits of the hardcopy and electronic Document Control files.
Assist with policy discussions, including e‑mail and video recording and retention.
Interface with IT Support for Document Control issues and recommend process enhancements.
Maintain a watchful and alert attitude toward Document Control, including participating in Project Team meetings and developing routine reports and metrics.
Instill a can‑do spirit within the Document Control Technician staff and inspire accurate results at a fast pace.
Interface with a variety of people with different technical levels and maintain a customer‑service attitude.
Qualifications
College Graduate (or some College Preferred)
20+ years of experience in document control supporting engineering and construction projects, preferably in the public‑sector.
Previous experience managing Document Control efforts for Construction or Transportation projects is preferred.
Self‑starter attitude with proactive, results‑oriented focus; willing and capable to assume additional responsibilities.
Proven accuracy, reliability, and completeness in job accomplishment.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
