Overview This position is contingent on contract award. The person in this position will support the US Department of Veterans Affairs Critical Staffing Program. The individual will represent International SOS Government Medical Services, Inc. and provide services described in the job description for a Diagnostic Radiologic Technician who operates X-ray machines to create images of patients' internal structures for medical diagnosis. They ensure the quality and safety of images by providing compassionate care and maintaining patient comfort during procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Perform radiography of the entire body.

Perform procedures such as cholangiography, lumbar and thoracic myelography, gastrointestinal studies, intravenous pyelograms, arteriography, operative cholangiography, and arthrography.

Independently operate radiographic equipment to perform a variety of complex diagnostic radiographic exams, and be on-call for all modalities with a 30-minute report time from notification.

Receive patients, explain method of procedure, position patients, select and set technical factors, set up and adjust accessory equipment, and make and develop exposures.

Work independently and as part of a team.

Adhere to quality assurance standards as established by The Joint Commission for Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO).

Perform services in accordance with ethical, professional, and technical standards of the healthcare industry consistent with VA policy, regulations, and procedures.

Demonstrate proficiency in English (speaking, reading, writing, and understanding).

Follow VA and VASDHS policies, procedures, bylaws, and medical staff protocols.

Use computers and technology efficiently.

Set up radiographic suites and ensure sterile supplies, contrast materials, catheters, and other equipment are available.

Prepare and administer contrast material orally, by enema, or intravenously under supervision of a radiologist, as required.

Perform related clerical duties such as sending images to PACS, archiving images, post-processing images, and case editing of computer requests and reports.

Maintain records and enter patient information using the Radiology VistA Package and CPRS.

Complete required organizational compliance education for Joint Commission Healthcare Staffing Services certification or other regulatory bodies.

Qualifications Basic Requirements/Certifications:

Must be licensed by the state of California in Radiography and Fluoroscopy.

Experience with portable and fixed X-ray equipment and C-Arms.

Two (2) years current work experience within the past three (3) years.

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Education Required:

Must possess an ARRT Certification in Radiography.

Physical Requirements:

Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.

Involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods; may require bending, stooping and lifting up to 15 lbs.

Other Special Qualifications:

Must be able to read, write, and speak English to effectively communicate.

US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card required.

Pass/possess VA Public Trust Clearance.

Pay range is based on several factors and may vary in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant’s background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with geographical market data.
