Job Title:
Live Haul Manager
Location:
De Queen, Arkansas
General Summary Responsible for the catching and hauling of birds to various plants on a schedule that allows for a timely and constant flow of birds while ensuring both low shrinkage and low DOA counts.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Interviews and hires live haul drivers.
Schedules drivers and coordinates delivery of live chickens to and from plants and farms.
Ensures that all equipment is repaired and maintained by shop personnel.
Works with internal partners, contract catchers, farm managers, and contract growers to ensure supply demands are met.
Coordinates with the Plant Manager to address problems through resolution.
Ensures that animal welfare practices are being executed.
Stays abreast and ensures compliance of DOT regulations.
Understands and implements PPC safety policies.
May supervise Superintendents and Supervisors.
Basic Skills & Qualifications
5-7 years of DIRECTLY RELATED experience required
Effective communication both orally and in writing.
Must be able to read, write and speak fluently in English is required.
Bilingual (Spanish) preferred
Capable of independent decision making.
Ability to manage multiple priorities.
Must be able to work assigned hours/days - including occasional weekends - as required.
Microsoft computer skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) required; SAP experience preferred
Educational Requirements High School Diploma/GED; College Degree in related field preferred.
