Project Manager I (Dallas, TX) - Austin Commercial at Austin Industries Responsibilities
Plan, schedule, and coordinate all phases of construction projects, including cost accounting and billing procedures, procurement, and liaison with owners, architects, subcontractors, suppliers, etc. May lead a project or oversee a designated portion of a larger project. Oversee construction projects by planning, scheduling, and coordinating all project phases; work directly with owners and architects during plan development; provide technical and cost input, and preliminary budget estimates; work with the Estimating department to solicit subcontractor bids and prepare the final cost estimate and proposal; work with the superintendent on matters such as site security, temporary power, utility connections, placement of office trailers, and locations for stored materials; coordinate deliveries with suppliers, trucking companies and municipal police to minimize traffic disruption; review subcontractor bids, ensure bonds and insurance; resolve contract interpretation/administration issues; ensure contract terms and specs are met; inspect work in progress for conformance with plans and specs; maintain high quality standards; document construction problems/deficiencies; approve subcontractor work for payment and sign pay requests; manage close-out documentation and punch lists; monitor subcontractors and vendors for performance and payment obligations; notify Risk Mgmt as required; establish and maintain a cost accounting system; prepare monthly job status reports; review labor cost reports with superintendent; prepare and submit monthly pay requests; ensure billings are processed accurately and timely; coordinate with Scheduling to develop a master construction schedule and keep CPM updated; manage changes in scope with pricing and approvals; ensure compliance with applicable laws and building codes; contribute to safety practices and team development. Qualifications
Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field and 2 years of experience in construction projects. Experience must include working with CMiC, BIM 360, Navisworks, Bluebeam; Primavera P6, and Microsoft Project. Jobsite: Dallas, TX (and various unanticipated client sites throughout the U.S.).
