Quality Manager role at II-VI Aerospace & Defense. Base pay range: $95,246.00/yr - $163,082.00/yr. The actual pay will be based on skills and experience; discuss with your recruiter to learn more. Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Responsible for site QMS including Management Review, Calibration, CAPA, NCR, Calibration, etc. Material Review Board Corrective Action Board and provide metrics Quality representation in program baseline management activities (e.g., Milestone Reviews (SRR, PDR, CDRs), CCB, peer reviews, code reviews, release planning, configuration management, CCB, test witnessing) Partner with suppliers to assure high quality of incoming product Perform internal and supplier AS9100D audits Continually improve quality program, including policies, objectives, plans, organization, procedures, and appraisals Generate regular progress, summary, and management review reports including Quality Metrics Knowledge of quality improvement tools (e.g., 5 Why, 8D, Fishbone, Poke-yoke, NPI, FMEA) Manage the Inspection and Quality Engineering team and, as required, perform hands-on inspection including receiving inspection & test, in-process inspections, final inspection & test Quality inspection and maintenance tasks include: verification and data archival of critical dimensions on all incoming custom fabricated parts (may involve an articulating arm CMM, calipers, and gauge blocks); verification and archival of passing certs for all COTS parts; electronics/soldering inspection (IPC certified); qualified space electronics inspection desired; calibration oversight for shop floor and facility equipment; maintenance, monitoring and calibration for ESD equipment; particle count Ensure customer quality requirements are defined to permit appropriate quality planning and implementation and that these requirements are met or exceeded Maintain relationships with Operations to ensure process capability, control, improvement, and quality information feedback Work with Customers and Sales to ensure customer quality requirements are adequately defined and met or exceeded Interface with major customers to ensure customer satisfaction through visits and clear communication Facility oversight responsibilities covering maintenance & repairs, safety & compliance, space planning, hazardous materials handling, and facility upgrades Quality manager will be a key leader for future facility expansion, upgrade and oversight Education & Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Quality Technology or STEM; minimum of 8+ years of relevant experience; master’s degree and 3+ years of managerial/leadership experience preferred Prior experience in plant management, industrial engineering, and manufacturing operations is highly desirable Skills

Citizenship required: United States Citizenship. Must have or be able to obtain a DoD Secret clearance (or higher) Preferred Skills And Experience

Experience in optical quality inspection, testing and process improvements for optics, fibers, and optical system quality in Aerospace and Defense Experience in optical and fiber component handling and cleaning Experience with calipers, micrometers, torque wrenches, test plates, electronic gauges, light sources, interferometers, autocollimators and automation of test equipment Experience in Supply Chain and/or Supply Chain Quality operations ASQ Certified Quality Auditor or Certified AS9100 Lead Auditor Experience creating and maintaining usable, actionable metrics to drive department decisions Analytical, decision making and problem-solving skills Working Conditions

Professional office environment, manufacturing floor, and clean room facilities Routine use of standard office equipment Work in a cubicle area with potential distractions from phone conversations Noise level usually moderate on the manufacturing floor and in clean room facilities Physical Requirements

Standing for sustained periods (about 25%) Walking and moving about inside the office Talking and hearing; able to convey detailed spoken instructions Lifting up to 10-15 pounds Sedentary work as required with occasional walking/standing Close vision and ability to adjust focus Safety Requirements
