Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Psychiatric Care and Rounding: Conduct patient rounds and manage psychiatric care within SNF, LTC, AL, and IL settings.
Collaborative Care Coordination: Partner with attending physicians, consulting specialists, referral sources, and facility staff to ensure comprehensive, coordinated care.
Patient Evaluation and Management: Assess and manage the mental health needs of residents, perform physical exams, and gather complete medical histories.
Diagnostics and Therapeutics: Order and interpret lab and diagnostic tests, make preliminary diagnoses, and develop effective therapeutic care plans for mental and physical health.
Medication and Treatment Management: Prescribe and administer medications and treatments; provide injections as necessary.
Patient and Family Education: Educate patients and families on medications, care plans, and preventive mental health practices.
Acute Care Collaboration: Work alongside physicians and facility teams to address acute psychiatric and medical needs promptly and effectively.

Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program and ANCC certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).
Active DEA license.
BLS and ACLS certification.
Current Nurse Practitioner license in the state of practice.
Travel and licensing notice: Depending on travel requirements, Curana may determine that a valid driver’s license, current auto insurance, and an acceptable driving record are required in the future. If so, you will be provided with thirty (30) days’ notice of this requirement. Periodic motor vehicle (MVR) checks may be conducted as a condition of continued employment.
