Job Summary

Works independently to perform digital screening mammography imaging based on hospital policies and practice standards, under the supervision of the interpreting physician. The candidate must demonstrate an understanding of breast anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology, and maintain accuracy in breast positioning, exposure techniques, and image evaluation while adhering to radiation protection and safety standards. Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Education: Associate's Degree or Graduate of an AMA-approved School of Radiologic Technology Minimum Years of Experience: None Required Certifications/Licensure: Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT); Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Mammography; Must have received/applied for South Carolina state license with SCRQSA; Must possess and maintain current CPR certification Required Training: Must have personal computer skills and be able to perform required functions in the current hospital computer system and PACS Essential Functions

Exhibits knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures and demonstrates competency in performing digital screening mammography imaging Provide and promote quality care in accordance with hospital standards Ability to troubleshoot basic technical/equipment problems and communicate with service Ability to work in a timely manner eliminating unnecessary delays in all procedures Identify patient needs and maintain a kind and courteous attitude Practice cost-effective use of supplies Follows HIPAA Guidelines when obtaining and sending patient medical information Apply knowledge of the principles of radiation protection for the patient, self, and others Duties & Responsibilities

Ability to perform weekly digital mammography equipment QC and record results Attend quarterly QC meeting with QA/QC Coordinator and other QC Techs Understands and supports mission statement, rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and protocols of Lexington Medical Center Attends pertinent staff development programs, including all in-service mandatory classes Maintain continuing educational programs per MQSA, ACR requirements Arrives to work on time and is prepared to begin work promptly Demonstrates competence to provide developmentally psycho-social care/treatment for the following patient population: Adult (18-65 years) and Geriatric (Over 65 years) Demonstrates excellence in Service Expectations Performs all other duties as assigned Benefits
