Overview

Under the guidance and supervision of a registered nurse, the Surgical Technician is responsible for surgical case preparation including allocation of appropriate surgical supplies and instrumentation and intraoperative organization of the sterile field. Facilitates the surgeons’ needs by passing sutures and instrumentation. Assists with terminal cleaning of the surgical suite/instrumentation after the procedure. Demonstrates advanced skills through training and knowledge to participate in optimal patient care and perioperative performance. Qualifications
Graduate from Surgical Tech Program with 2 years experience as a Surgical Tech. Complete competencies for all General Service Lines and 50% of Advanced Service Lines. Environmental Orientation within 30 days of hire. Unit Specific competency within 90 days of hire. National Certified Surgical Technologist - National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting upon hire. National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire. Experience by position level: Surgical Tech: 2 years; Senior Surgical Tech: 3 years; Lead Surgical Tech: 5 years. Why Join Providence?
