Salary Range:
Pharmacy Manager $5,775.00-$6,342.00 Bi-Weekly Responsibilities
Patient Experience: Engages patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. Resolves patient issues in a timely manner and answers questions to ensure a positive patient experience. Patient experience enhancements: Models and shares customer service best practices with all team members to deliver a distinctive and joyful patient experience, including interpersonal habits that show care and Walgreens service traits. Clinical and preventive services: Connects with patients by anticipating needs and proactively offering services; leads efforts to raise awareness of healthcare services offered through Walgreens (e.g., patient consultation, medication management, drug therapy reviews, immunizations, diagnostic testing, and patient outcomes services). Events and community engagement: Participates in events and activities requested by leadership to reflect the communities served. Operations: Counsels patients on medicine usage, side effects, interactions, privacy, generics, and OTC products; performs compounding, drug therapy reviews, verification, and medication management. Regulatory and workflow: Ensures pharmacy operates in compliance with regulations and company policies; oversees scheduling, ordering, coordinating activities, and opening/closing the pharmacy and shift changes. Good Faith Dispensing: Ensures use of Good Faith Dispensing elements in accordance with laws when filling prescriptions. Strategic partnerships: Collaborates with Store Manager to define and develop new strategic business opportunities. Technology and support: Maintains knowledge of pharmacy systems (workflow, billing, documentation, inventory, POS) and supports staff and patients with IT, seeking productivity improvements. Insurance and third-party coordination: Ensures claims are processed accurately; resolves issues with insurers and providers and participates in third-party audits. Clinical collaboration: Follows up with medical providers to clarify prescriptions and answer questions; performs immunizations, diagnostic testing, disease state management, and other healthcare services. Service delivery: Trains and oversees virtual product review and other company procedures in virtual environments as applicable. Operations maintenance: Manages maintenance, housekeeping, and improvements of the pharmacy department. Documentation: Prepares and submits records and reports required by laws to run the pharmacy business. People & Performance Management
Collaborates with Store Manager on staff hiring, discipline, termination, and legal compliance. Sets expectations and goals, promotes teamwork, recognizes improvements, and conducts formal performance reviews. Identifies high-potential team members and supports career progression. Addresses employee relations concerns and maintains team morale. Training & Personal Development
Maintains required licensing/credentialing/certification to provide clinical services. Maintains knowledge of pharmacy and healthcare developments and pursues best practices to enhance performance. Completes required education credits and training. Seeks professional development with mentorship from supervisors and managers. Communications
Supports Store Manager by communicating relevant corporate health and wellness services or strategy to pharmacy staff. Business Performance Management
Analyzes performance data (pharmacy financials, customer service, inventory); manages asset protection and inventory; identifies opportunities for improvement. Business Planning
Develops relationships with local medical providers; promotes the pharmacy business and growth opportunities; supports health and wellness awareness in the community. Basic Qualifications
BS in Pharmacy or PharmD from an accredited institution. Current pharmacist licensure in the states within the district. Certified Immunizer or willing to become one within 90 days of hire. At least 1 year of pharmacy experience including dispensing, recordkeeping, compliance, operations, software and insurance billing (state-specific requirements may apply). Experience with prescription dispensing and knowledge of state and federal controlled substance laws. Average leadership rating of 3.0 or higher on last review (internal candidates only) and no written disciplinary actions in the last 12 months. About Walgreens and WBA
