PCU Registered Nurse Travel Nursing Opportunity (Night Shift) in Springfield, Illinois. This travel nursing job offers the chance to work in a Level I Trauma Center and Magnet Facility, providing high-quality patient care in a supportive healthcare environment. Facility: Acute Care Hospital, Level I Trauma Center, Magnet Facility. Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse. Shift: Night shift, 4x12-hour shifts (18:45 – 07:15); option for 3x12s. Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 9/15/2025 – End: 12/15/2025). Hours per Week: 36. Estimated Weekly Salary: $2000-$2050. Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend. Charting System: Cerner EMR. Parking: Free with permit. Scrub Color: Any solid color. Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult patients in a busy IMC/PCU unit Manage a 1:4 patient ratio with interdisciplinary healthcare team support Interpret and manage dysrhythmias and cardiac telemetry Care for ventilated patients, tracheostomies, and chest tubes Administer cardiac and vasoactive drips, blood products, and IV therapies Perform wound care, isolation precautions, and operate wound vacs Support post-surgical and trauma patients, including neuro and orthopedic cases Float to other nursing units and affiliate hospitals as required Document patient care accurately using Cerner EMR Collaborate with physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and other healthcare professionals Qualifications
Active Illinois RN license (required at submission) Minimum 1 year of recent PCU/Stepdown nursing experience BLS and NIHSS certifications (ACLS preferred) Experience in telemetry, neuro stepdown, IMC, PCU, DOU, or Stepdown settings Proficient in cardiac monitoring and emergency response Ability to float within hospital and to affiliate hospitals Previous travel nursing experience required Level I Trauma Center experience preferred Must be able to work 2 out of 3 major holidays if assignment overlaps Benefits
