Occupational Therapist III: Clinical Specialist (CASSI Program- Ashland Location) Hiring Incentive Join to apply for the Occupational Therapist III: Clinical Specialist (CASSI Program- Ashland Location) Hiring Incentive role at Kennedy Krieger Institute. The Occupational Therapist III will perform evaluation and subsequent planning, execution, and supervision of therapy programs for persons with neuromotor dysfunction. The Occupational Therapist will participate in intra-disciplinary and interdisciplinary training programs for affiliating students, staff, and community agencies, clinical supervision of OT students, COTAs, and volunteers/aides, and maintain appropriate patient records. The Occupational Therapist III will develop models for service delivery and evaluation, plan and conduct research activities, review and interpret literature and disseminate those findings through formal and informal presentations, all with regard to their own area of documented specialization.

Responsibilities

Evaluate assigned patients; plan programs; execute, supervise, and document programs as planned.

Provide instruction to caregivers regarding home and community programming.

Maintain written documentation, including patient reports, progress notes, initial and discharge reports, according to procedures of the department, KKI, and Maryland OT guidelines.

Supervise affiliating students/trainees and clinical staff as assigned.

Assist in the development of documentation, treatment protocols, and clinical policies and procedures specific to program area.

Implement program development, evaluation, and performance improvement/performance evaluation measures within an assigned area.

Assist in care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies.

Participate in planning and execution of programs for personal and professional growth and development.

Function effectively within an interdisciplinary team.

Develop models for the delivery and evaluation of services, or plan and conduct research activities within the specialty area.

Research, review, and interpret literature related to certification/specialty area and disseminate that knowledge to internal and external audiences through formal and informal presentations and training.

Education

Graduate of an accredited program in Occupational Therapy with a minimum Baccalaureate Degree or basic Masters in Occupational Therapy (MA/MS in OT preferred).

Eligible for license to practice Occupational Therapy in the state of Maryland.

Experience

Four years experience in Occupational Therapy, at least three of which must be in a documented specialty area. Previous experience in pediatrics and/or rehabilitation and treatment preferred but not required.
