Sentara Careplex Hospital in Hampton, VA is hiring a Travel Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) for a Full Time, 14-week assignment. Mostly dayshift with 8- or 10-hour shifts (6:45–15:15 or 6:45–17:15); occasional 11:00–19:00 coverage. Call requirement: 30 minute response time, 2 weekend shifts (7:00–19:00) per 6-week schedule. Responsibilities
The Surgical Technologist ensures the operating room is properly prepared with necessary instruments and equipment, passes instruments, maintains sterile field, and anticipates the surgeon\'s needs. Maintains patient safety and keeps the surgical environment organized, clean, and sterile. Assists in applying dressings, securing drapes, and transferring patients to recovery. Adheres to infection control protocols and sterile techniques. Works closely with the surgical team to ensure smooth and effective procedures. Qualifications
Surgical Technologist licensure in the state of practice. Must possess one of the following certifications: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) - NBSTSA Tech in Surgery TS-C - NCCT Education
TS - Trade School Graduate - Surgical Technologist Certification/Licensure
Licensed Surgical Technologist - Virginia Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) - NBSTSA Tech in Surgery TS-C - NCCT Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association Experience
