Performs in-office physical assessments of patients, reviews medical histories, and interprets diagnostic tests/results to provide effective treatment. Conducts preventive health screenings based on patient age, history, and needs to offer proactive care. Educates patients and families about medical conditions, treatments, and follow-up care. Maintains accurate patient records across offices. Performs office-based specialty care procedures following departmental guidelines and clinical roles. Identifies improvements in outpatient specialty care through assessment, problem-solving, and evaluation of clinical and system issues. Performs other duties as assigned. Education:
Required: Master’s Degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant studies. If employed at Cone Health prior to October 14, 2024, with a Bachelor’s Degree, the Master’s Degree requirement is waived provided employment and licensure are maintained. Experience:
Required: None. Preferred: 3+ years. Licensure/Certification:
Valid NC RN and Nurse Midwife or NP license OR NC PA license. Board certification within 1 year of hire by NCCPA for PAs or ANCC, NCC, AMCB, AANP, or PNCB for NPs. BLS (CPR) certification from American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider. Neonatal Resuscitation Protocol (NRP) certification required for Neonatal Advanced Practice Providers.
