This position is 25 hours per week with some on-call requirements.

Beth Israel Deaconess Milton is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist. At the clinical direction of a Radiologist and the administrative direction of the Director of Radiology, performs technically competent and timely Ultrasound procedures. Maintain quality consistent with established technical standards under the direction of the Chief of Radiology and the Manager of Radiology.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for all technical aspects of the exam.

Must be able to independently operate ultrasound equipment to produce and process images.

Must be familiar with emergency equipment and supplies within the department and respond/document/report emergencies.

Maintain clean work area and adhere to infection control standards.

Organize work schedule on a daily basis, assist in maintaining inventory and order supplies as needed.

Communicate with reception staff to minimize waiting to ensure patient satisfaction.

Collaborate, cooperate and communicate with other healthcare providers to ensure quality and continuity of care.

Report equipment malfunctions to Director. Initiate/document service calls for equipment.

Supervise and document quality control and assurance.

Transport patients as needed. Provide on-call coverage and/or work various shifts as assigned to meet department needs.

QUALIFICATIONS

Graduate of an accredited sonography program and registered or eligible for registration in the fields of Abdomen, Physiology or Cardiac sonography.

Maintains CEU credits.

Provides copies of the above-mentioned documents to be kept on file in the Radiology Department.
