The Opportunity In Abbott’s Electrophysiology (EP) business, we’re advancing the treatment of heart disease through breakthrough medical technologies in atrial fibrillation, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives. What You’ll Work On Working under limited supervision, provide advanced engineering, sales, educational and clinical support in response to complex field inquiries from physicians, health care professionals, patients, and field sales staff regarding EP products. Performs work with a high degree of independence and acts as a proven leader/mentor in the region; identify and use effective, cost-efficient business practices to execute processes. Exercise independent judgment in planning, organizing and performing work; monitor performance and report status to manager. Maintain expert technical proficiency across EP products, related product knowledge, trends, and competitors. Act as the most senior clinical interface between the medical community and the business; build and sustain credible relationships with customers and share product expertise accordingly. Identify customer needs, product performance gaps and potential sales opportunities to influence sales growth and service of accounts. Provide engineering, sales, education and clinical support for the most complex field inquiries on a 24-hour, on-call basis. Develop, lead and/or facilitate trainings and other programs on EP products for healthcare professionals. Provide insights and feedback to management on market feedback and roadmap considerations for next-generation products. Provide regional EP implant case coverage to defined accounts, with EP share typically higher than the national average. Offer back-up support to EP Sales Representatives in areas such as sales support, regional training seminars, clinical studies/data collection, troubleshooting, and new product in-service training. Mentor and provide leadership to EP clinical support roles; support ongoing development of engineering, sales and technical skills related to Arrhythmia Management strategy. Assist Training and Education departments with advanced educational seminars and the preparation of educational materials; assist Sales with advanced product demonstrations. Stay current on developments in the field, regulatory requirements, company and competitor products, markets and industry trends; resolve problems and identify root causes to prevent recurrence. Required Qualifications Minimum of 6 years of clinical experience (internal or external). Prior industry/competitive experience, if external. Solely dedicated to EP. Must be in Sr. EP CS role for 2 years. 1 of last 2 performance ratings must be exceeds expectations. IBHRE EP certified. Ability to perform the most complex EP cases solo. Ability to mentor and train EP CS roles and CA CS roles on complex mapping cases. Ability to conduct complex customer education events to sell the value proposition of the full ABT portfolio. Revenue/case higher than national average. Performs in the top half of cases completed across clinical group at time of promotion in the defined Region/Area.
