Take initiative, assume responsibility, and act daily; understand the physical, mental, psychological and social needs of patients. Understand communication skills, evaluation, and treatment; collaborate with associates to provide quality interdisciplinary patient programming. Provide comprehensive evaluation of communication skills and/or swallowing function; deliver goal-oriented treatment to facilitate maximum communication and/or swallowing potential. Participate with staff in monitoring the quality of services provided by Rehab Therapy Department. Participate in peer review for staff performance and appraisals. Assist in development of the SLP role in programs and services; revise departmental policies and procedures. Assist in maintaining adequate supplies. Share professional knowledge; alert Manager to educational needs. Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications Current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist required. Certified BLS or completion within first 90 days of employment required. Preferred Qualifications Current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech Language Pathology from the American Speech-Language & Hearing Association.
