The CT Tech 1 arranges patients for Computed Tomography examinations. Produces CT images to aid in the diagnosis of medical problems. Prevents patient from being exposed to unnecessary radiation. Ensures patient safety by using pre-established imaging protocols, and screens patients for safe administration of contrast media. Utilizes departmental policy to perform safe operation of equipment and all functions of the job. Provides complete pre and post education to patients and family. Initially, may require instruction and guidance to accomplish the job and should develop into performing work under general supervision. Responsibilities
Clinical skills: Demonstrates radiologic principles, anatomy, and pathology processes using appropriate techniques for optimal examinations. Adheres to policies and protocols. Teaches radiography students as required. Patient/General Safety: Communicates effectively with patients, explains procedures, and answers questions to ease anxiety. Assists physicians during examinations. Identifies and resolves clinical or emergent problems. Ensures patient safety using safety measures and reports adverse conditions. Equipment Maintenance: Maintains a clean, safe environment. Operates and calibrates equipment according to specifications. Troubleshoots equipment issues and reports problems. Performs routine maintenance to ensure quality images. Documentation/Communication: Correctly identifies patients and files. Tracks patients and corrects errors. Participates in department initiatives and meetings. Radiation safety: Ensures accurate patient identification and tracking, and corrects errors promptly. Other duties as assigned: Acts as backup for colleagues and completes additional tasks timely. Qualifications
Graduate of accredited Radiologic Technologist Program Good interpersonal, communication, teamwork, critical thinking, and organizational skills Current State License, ARRT(R) or Registry Eligible, or current LSRT temp license Basic Life Support (BLS - HCP) About Us
