Job Overview: This is a Clinical Transplant Pharmacist Specialist role for Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center who is responsible for is responsible for providing comprehensive pharmaceutical care to transplant candidates, recipients and living donors, Located in Livingston, NJ, come join one of the best hospitals in New Jersey! Qualifications: Required: Registration in New Jersey as a pharmacist; current New Jersey licensure required Completion of course at an accredited School of Pharmacy, with a degree of Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or PharmD PGY1 residency program completion or equivalent experience Solid Organ Transplantation Pharmacy Specialty Certification- BCTXP or an alternate Board of Pharmacy Specialties certification required within 1 year of employment Preferred: PGY2 residency in Transplant or equivalent experience preferred Registration in New Jersey as a licensed pharmacist immunizer Scheduling Requirements: FT Days Essential Functions: Providing comprehensive pharmaceutical care to transplant candidates, recipients and living donors in a culturally competent manner The transplant specialist pharmacist will work with patients, their families, and members of the transplant multidisciplinary team both in the hospital and the transplant clinic Monitors specific medication prescribing in accordance with established drug usage criteria, prior to dispensing, as defined by the Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee and established collaborative practice agreement Provides educational rotation and facilitates research projects for both PGY1 and PGY2 residents as required The transplant pharmacist will be periodically responsible for dispensing for investigational drug products for transplant related protocols Enhancing professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, workshops, in-service meetings, etc Other Duties: Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job, Duties, responsibilities and activities may change at any time with or without notice Our Department: All staff is invited to participate in the Pharmacy Shared Governance Council to effect change within the department Staff size- 120 colleagues Various employee engagement celebrations through the year including Pi Day, Quarterly Pot Luck, Chili cook off, Ice cream socials, Cookie exchange, Book exchange, Wear Pink on Fridays in October Precepting opportunities available for both Rutgers Pharmacy Students, Rutgers Knight Scholar Students and PGY 1 and 2 residents Opportunity for Clinical Ladder Bonus Program after 6 months of employment for pharmacists and technicians
