As a CT Technologist at UC San Diego Health, you will prepare and position patients, operate CT equipment, adjust scanning parameters, and ensure patient safety and comfort throughout procedures. You will follow strict radiation safety guidelines, review images for quality, collaborate with radiologists and multidisciplinary teams, and maintain accurate records. Strong communication skills are essential to explain procedures and support patients effectively. Work environment includes a dynamic, collaborative academic setting with opportunities to engage in complex imaging studies across cardiology, neurology, oncology, and trauma. You will work with state-of-the-art equipment and be involved in continuous learning, protocol development, and clinical trials. Responsibilities
Prepare and position patients for CT imaging and operate CT equipment. Adjust scanning parameters to achieve high-quality, low-dose scans while prioritizing patient safety. Review images for quality and collaborate with radiologists and clinicians. Maintain accurate records and documentation related to procedures. Communicate procedures clearly to patients and support their comfort and safety. Adhere to radiation safety guidelines and dose reduction protocols. Qualifications
Graduate of a school of radiologic Technology. California Radiology Technologist of Radiography (CRT-R). Registered Technologist for Computed Tomography issued by ARRT (R.T(CT)(ARRT)). Venipuncture certification OR Venipuncture Course Completion. BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to obtain BART within six months of hire. Less than three years of recent CT experience or a new graduate (CT Tech) OR more than three years (Sr. CT Tech). Thorough knowledge of radiological computerized systems and applications including PACS and RIS. Preferred Qualifications
CRT-F (Fluoroscopy). Two years of CT experience in an acute care hospital setting. Experience in a Level I trauma center environment and stroke center imaging workflows. Experience with advanced CT technology and post-processing software in emergency or critical care imaging. Special Conditions
Placement within the salary range determined by internal equity and qualifications. CT Tech salary range $56.86 - $65.34. CT Tech Sr salary range $61.03 - $75.84. Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical. Vaccination and health directives may apply; life-support certifications may require hands-on practice and in-person skills assessment. Salary and Benefits
Pay Transparency Act: Annual Full Pay Range: $127,431 - $158,354 (prorated if appointment
