Overview General Neurology (EEG Focus) – Faculty Opportunity at University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB), Galveston, Texas.

The Department of Neurology at UTMB was established in 1973. It has a long-standing history in clinical neuroscience, providing care for neurologic illnesses including Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias, epilepsy, neuromuscular disorders, brain tumors, Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders, multiple sclerosis and other autoimmune disorders, stroke, and other acute neurologic injuries. UTMB also maintains a robust laboratory research program focused on neurodegenerative disorders and hosts a fully accredited neurology residency training program.

Responsibilities

Provide patient care in the Adult Neurology Outpatient Clinic, including performing EEGs.

Participate in call rotations with other faculty in the adult Neurology section.

Participate in coverage on the ward/consult service for adult care.

Engage in teaching and instruction of medical students, residents, and postdoctoral fellows.

Qualifications

MD or DO degree.

Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Neurology.

Strong commitment to patient care, medical student and resident education.

Participation in research and scholarly activities.

U.S. Citizenship or Employment Authorization to work in the U.S.

Ability to obtain an unrestricted Texas Medical License.

EEG training/experience is strongly preferred.

Income Package Salary will be competitive and commensurate with training and experience. The position offers opportunities for patient care, teaching, and program development.
