Performs quality diagnostic procedures, including general, surgical, portable, and tomography. Uses radiation protection devices and techniques per safety standards. Applies independent judgment and initiative in radiologic diagnosis. Ensure all images are properly identified with patient I.D., side markers, and tech initials. Minimize radiation exposure to patients and staff. Report any patient injuries per hospital policy. Maintain radiographic quality through accurate patient and equipment positioning and technique manipulation. Complete tasks promptly with high accuracy. Document required information in the computerized information system (RIS). Ensure exams are completed timely and records are complete and up-to-date. Support secretarial staff as needed. Assist radiologists/physicians in procedures and administration of contrast media and other medications as required. Collaborate with team to ensure safe patient care. Operate and maintain diagnostic x-ray machines, processors, and related equipment; report malfunctions promptly. Ensure optimum processing and safe operation at all times. Meet workload expectations; rotate shifts, weekends, and holidays as department requires. Apply nursing procedures pertinent to patient care as appropriate in radiology. Manage patient flow to minimize delays and keep wait times reasonable. Maintain communication with Nursing Services regarding patient condition and radiology procedures. Ensure awareness of department procedures and current patient status. Provide care appropriate to the age of patients served on assigned unit. Assist with patient transport as needed and support transportation staff. Instruct, guide, supervise, and evaluate students in clinical and didactic settings. Ensure clear, accurate information and positive student interactions. Clean and maintain departmental equipment and instruments in accordance with safety/health regulations. Qualifications

Required : Holds Permit-to-Practice radiology license in the state of Iowa. Certified and current ARRT registration as a Radiologic Technologist. For Mammography, CT, or MRI tracks: must obtain modality ARRT board examination within 18 months of orientation program completion. Seniorarity and Employment Type
