Under general supervision of the Laboratory Manager, the Core Laboratory Supervisor is responsible for the twenty-four hour operation of the Core laboratory. He/she will assist the Laboratory Manager in planning, organizing and delineating duties and responsibilities of laboratory personnel in cooperation with the Medical Director of the Laboratory. The Core Laboratory Supervisor will, when necessary, represent and coordinate activities of the laboratory in outside areas and with other individuals upon absence of the Laboratory Manager. He/she coordinates management and clinical functions to assure reliable test results that will contribute to the prevention, diagnosis, prognosis and treatment of physiological and pathological conditions. Performs related quality control and clerical work as required. Performs waived, moderate and high complexity testing according to established standards of accreditation set forth by JCAHO, CLIA and CAP. Evaluates new procedures and/or methods under direct supervision of Laboratory Manager and assists in training and orientation of personnel. Requirements

Education/Experience (Required) 1-3 years of laboratory experience in Chemistry and Hematology is required. Bachelor’s degree in laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution is required. Preferred Education, Licensure, Certification, Experience, Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Good people skills, computer skills helpful. Full technical knowledge of the medical laboratory area is highly desirable. Licensure/Certifications (Required) Certified by ASCP, or any licensure recognized by the laboratory certification agency (e.g. Medicare, JCAHO, CAP, etc.). About Del Sol Medical Center
