Required Skills/Qualifications/Training/Experience
Minimum of one to three years’ experience as a laboratory technician or technologist in a hospital setting. May be assigned the Charge Tech for off-shifts and weekends. Recognizes problems, identifies causes, synthesizes alternatives, and applies solutions. Confirms and verifies results through an in-depth knowledge of techniques, principles, and instrumentation. Performs routine and highly complex laboratory analysis on neonatal, pediatric, adult and/or geriatric patients as needed. Preferred Skills/Qualifications/Training/Experience
Excellent command of oral and written English; leadership and management abilities; operation of clinical equipment; demonstrates clinical competence; positive interpersonal and communication skills; competence with hospital-based computer system. Educational Requirements
AS in a chemical, biological or physical science or medical technology training with at least one year of laboratory training or experience. Meet all training requirements for high complexity testing as defined under 42 CFR Section 493.1489; or 493.1491 of the Federal Regulations. License/Certification
MLT (ASCP); CLT (NCA) or equivalent. Age Specific Criteria: Ability to effectively communicate to all age levels served within the scope of the position/assigned areas.
