Quality Engineer - Metrology - Rochester, NY Base pay range: $75,000.00/yr – $100,000.00/yr

Responsibilities

Develop, program, and maintain CMM inspection routines (using PC‑DMIS or similar software).

Perform first article, in‑process, and final inspections utilizing precision measurement tools and advanced metrology equipment.

Support quality engineering initiatives including root cause analysis, corrective/preventive actions (CAPA), and continuous improvement projects.

Ensure all measurement equipment is calibrated and maintained in compliance with ISO and customer standards.

Create and update inspection documentation, quality control plans, and dimensional reports.

Collaborate with engineering, production, and cleanroom teams to ensure product conformance and process stability.

Participate in cleanroom process validation, contamination control, and inspection protocol improvements.

Train production and inspection personnel on measurement techniques and quality standards.

Qualifications

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).

3+ years of experience in quality, metrology, or dimensional inspection within a precision manufacturing or cleanroom environment.

Strong proficiency in CMM programming (PC‑DMIS, Calypso, or similar).

Familiarity with ISO 9001 or other relevant quality management systems.

Experience with GD&T, blueprints, and mechanical drawings.

Hands‑on experience with metrology tools such as micrometers, calipers, height gages, and optical comparators.

Excellent attention to detail and strong problem‑solving skills.
