Overview

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Modeling and Simulation Systems Engineer (T2 or T3) to join the Advanced Programs Mission Engineering Team in Huntsville, AL. The selected candidate will support operational analyses for offensive and defensive weapon systems and work on various MS&A projects, including development and analysis of models and simulations using the AFSMAX Framework (AFSIM). Responsibilities

Select, define, and develop appropriate representations of a system or system element. Use representations to derive information about the real system. Interpret and use the outcomes of modeling and analysis. Support briefings to leadership regarding the MS&A project plan, status, and outcomes. Domestic travel is required (estimated 10-25%, frequency dependent on team needs). Basic Qualifications

T2 - Modeling and Simulation Systems Engineer: B.S. and 2 years of related experience or M.S. and 0 years; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. T3 Principal Modeling and Simulation Systems Engineer: B.S. with 5 years of related experience, or M.S. with 3 years, or PhD with 1 year; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Demonstrated experience with threat and weapon system modeling. Experience with digital threads (specs, digital models, simulation, etc.). Proficient with MATLAB or Python. Demonstrated experience using AFSMAX (Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration, and Modeling). Ability to communicate technical information to technical and non-technical customers; works autonomously and collaboratively in a team setting (in-person and virtual). Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be a US Citizen with an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope (

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s or higher degree in Systems Engineering or other STEM field. Active DoD Top Secret clearance (current and within scope). Experience with agile development methodologies. Domain knowledge in missile defense or offensive military capabilities. Experience with multi-resolution conceptual model development, verification, and validation to develop simulations for military operations. Strong data analytics skills (statistics, data cleaning/mining/visualization) and experience with R, SQL, Python, Power BI, or Tableau. INCOSE ASEP (or higher) certification. Position Benefits
