Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist @ GFT | Strategic Recruiting Support GFT is seeking experienced mid to senior Substation Engineers (Electrical Engineers) to join our expanding Power Group. This remote role involves leading or supporting utility and power substation projects and clients. Join a team that drives the future of energy infrastructure through power transmission, distribution, and renewable energy initiatives. What You’ll Be Challenged To Do
Lead or support utility and power substation projects for clients, from 34.5 kV up to 500 kV. Build effective relationships with clients and key stakeholders in the Power & Utility industry. Manage technical, financial, and scheduling aspects of substation projects; may act as project manager, client manager, or capture/proposal manager. Develop substation layouts (plan/elevations, yard layouts, grounding, raceways, control building layouts, cable lists, material lists) for new and existing substations. Develop single-line and three-line diagrams, auxiliary/systems power, DC power systems, DC schematics, SCADA and communications, relay panel layouts, wiring, and cable schedules. Prepare calculations, reports, equipment specifications, and QA/QC reviews. Collaborate internally to pursue power substation projects regionally and nationally to expand GFT’s presence in power delivery. Mentor or lead a staff of engineers and technical specialists and collaborate across offices. Support proposal development, bids, and client presentations. Qualifications
Minimum bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. Professional Engineer license or on the path to licensure. 5+ years of progressive experience in design, engineering, and project management within the power and utility industry. Experience or interest in the consulting engineering profession. Proficiency with project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project) for scope, schedule, and budget management. Design experience in high voltage substation and distribution projects. Experience creating quality technical solutions and delivering major power projects. Commitment to driving strong business performance, continuous improvement, and best practices. What We Prefer You Bring
Advanced degree strongly preferred. Experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation, or Inventor. Compensation
The salary range for this role is $107,000 - $165,000. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location. Benefits
