We are seeking a Roadways Geometry Design Engineer for a full-time, hybrid position based in Los Angeles, CA. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and supporting the geometric design of roadway infrastructure projects, including highways, arterials, and interchanges. Work will be performed primarily using Bentley’s InRoads and OpenRoads platforms. This position offers a mix of in-office collaboration and remote work flexibility. Responsibilities
Lead and support roadway geometry design tasks for transportation projects at all stages, from conceptual design through final design Develop horizontal and vertical alignments, profiles, and 3D corridor models using Bentley InRoads and OpenRoads Ensure designs comply with applicable standards (AASHTO, FHWA, and state DOT guidelines) Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams including drainage, structures, utilities, and environmental specialists Participate in design reviews, value engineering sessions, and quality control processes Prepare technical reports, design documentation, and construction plan sets Mentor junior engineers and review their work to support team development Contribute to proposals, client presentations, and business development efforts as needed Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field 8 to 10 years of relevant experience in roadway geometric design, preferably in the Los Angeles area Proven expertise in Bentley’s InRoads and OpenRoads Designer platforms Strong understanding of US roadway design standards (AASHTO Green Book, state DOT manuals, MUTCD) Experience with CAD production and digital delivery workflows (MicroStation, ProjectWise, etc.) Strong technical writing, communication, and problem-solving skills PE license preferred (or ability to obtain in the near term) What we offer
