Our Skyworks Irvine team is seeking a motivated student for a 6-month cross-disciplinary Winter/Spring Co-Op focused on Software Engineering using AI, also requiring hardware engineering validation. Responsibilities

You will be tasked with training an AI in planning, designing, and deploying software tools that accelerate the development of test programs for Automated Test Equipment (ATE). Work with engineers to understand the best workflow and how to translate that into automated outputs. Create user-friendly interfaces to ensure hardware-focused engineers can use the tools and reduce development time. Validate the software output on ATE platforms, analyze data against released software, and iterate until achieving a complete solution. Gain exposure to testing concepts for LNAs, PAs, Filters, Digital Protocols, etc. The long-term goal is to reduce the development time for new products to be released. Required Experience and Skills

Major: Electrical and Computer Engineering or Computer Science. Years of Study: 3-5 (Bachelor's: junior/senior or first-year Master's). Solid background in basic electrical engineering principles. Solid background in software engineering principles (ideally in C/C++). Willingness to work in both hardware and software engineering disciplines. Introductory knowledge of AI principles. Willing to work onsite for a 6-month Co-Op (Jan - May/June 2026). Desired Experience and Skills

Knowledge of RF/MW Engineering principles and concepts such as IP3, NF, P1dB, Modulation. Knowledge of Digital Protocols like I2C, I3C, SPI, MIPI. Strong background in Windows and Linux operating systems, with the ability to create executables for either platform from shared code. Programming skills in C/C++ (OOP, threading), scripting (PowerShell, Python, Ruby). Desire to learn AI programming and streamline software creation. Understanding of revision control software like git (preferred) or svn. The typical pay range for an Engineering intern across the U.S. is USD $26.00 - $47.50 per hour. For a Non-Engineering intern, it is USD $22.50 - $42.00 per hour. Starting pay depends on education level, job duties, requirements, and location. Skyworks offers different pay ranges for various U.S. locations.
